Former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for complaining to the International Cricket Council (ICC) raising multiple issues against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
PCB’s major concern has been the treatment that the Pakistan cricket team received from the Ahmedabad crowd during their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 game against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium last week.
Pakistan had suffered a humiliating defeat against arch-rival India in that match.
“Who asked Pakistani journalist Zainab Abbas to comment against India and Hindus? Who asked Mickey Arthur to call ICC event as BCCI event? Who asked Rizwan to perform Namaz in playground? Don’t find faults in others!” wrote Kaneria on social media platform X (earlier known as Twitter).
Notably, Kaneria is one of the rare Hindus to play for the Pakistan team.
Moreover, PCB has lodged another formal protest with the ICC over delays in visas for Pakistani journalists and the absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup.
The board has also filed a complaint regarding inappropriate conduct targeted at the Pakistan squad during the India vs Pakistan match held on October 14, 2023.
