Team India’s No.4 batsman Shreyas Iyer bounced back to form and played an explosive knock to help India register a massive total of 357 for the loss of eight wickets in a league match of the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

Iyer ran havoc on the Sri Lanka bowling attack by scoring a brisk half century of 82 runs from just 56 balls with the help of three fours and six massive sixes.

During his explosive knock, Iyer was in his best touch in Mumbai. He went on to beat Australian batter Glenn Maxwell for the biggest six of the tournament so far with a 106-meter maximum.

The ball went right where Yuzvendra Chahal was seated alongside Ritika Sajdeh and Prithi Ashwin.

While wickets kept on tumbling from the other end with KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav and more walking back to the pavilion after a solid partnership between Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli, Iyer played some explosive shots to keep the flow of runs fluent for the Men in Blue.

With his crucial knock, Iyer has shut his critics who were critical of the right hander’s dismal performance in the mega event. With Iyer coming back to form before the knock-out stage, the Men in Blue have got a massive boost.
