Fans across the globe always eagerly wait to watch the high-voltage encounter between India and Pakistan. The rivalry between both the countries is considered to be one of the biggest rivalries in sports.

Both the teams are not playing bilateral ties anymore because of the tense relationship between both of them. However, there is a chance that after a long gap both the team will lock horns again in the forthcoming Men’s ODI Asia Cup 2023.

Asia Cricket Council President Jay Shah on Thursday confirmed that the Men’s ODI Asia Cup 2023 will take place in September and India-Pakistan would be in the same group along with a qualifying team. The other group will have Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.

“Presenting the @ACCMedia1 pathway structure & cricket calendars for 2023 & 2024! This signals our unparalleled efforts & passion to take this game to new heights. With cricketers across countries gearing up for spectacular performances, it promises to be a good time for cricket!” tweeted Shah.

However, it is not yet clear till now that which country will host the 2023 ODI Asia Cup. Pakistan is the official host, but India’s reluctance to travel to the neighboring country may see the Asian Cricket Council shift the tournament elsewhere.

The six-time champions India will try their best to return the trophy to India this year.

Earlier in T20 Asia Cup 2022 final in Dubai, Sri Lanka had beaten Pakistan to emerge champions. India had a poor show in the tournament as they failed to reach the summit clash of the mega event.
