BCCI announced the schedule of Indian Premier League 2023 on Friday. The inaugural match of the cash-rich league will be played between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on March 31.

All the matches of the 2023 edition of the league will be played across 12 venues. The venues are Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati and Dharamsala. The tournament is back in 'home and away' format after three years. Each team will play seven home and seven away games.

The last league match will be played on May 21. The final will be held in Ahmedabad on May 28. A total of 70 league matches will be played including 18 double headers.

Last season, Gujarat Titans rode on the all-round display of skipper Hardik Pandya to win the Indian Premier League with a seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in the summit clash.

This will probably be the last IPL of CSK captain MS Dhoni.
