Promising batsman Prithvi Shaw has so far had a miserable Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Playing for Delhi Capitals (DC) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in his fifth match of the ongoing cash-rich league, Prithvi failed to impress again at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.

Chasing a victory target of 175 against RCB, Prithvi came to bat as a usual opener for DC. However, he failed to open his account as he was run out by Anuj Rawat. In the process, he put Delhi into deep trouble from the start.

Backed highly by head coach and legendary Australian cricketer, Ricky Ponting before the start of the mega event, Shaw has failed miserably with scores of 12, 7, 0, 15, and 0 in his first five games.

In response to his poor form, Prithvi admitted that he tried different things but nothing has worked for him so far. The flamboyant opener has vowed to play his natural game before it’s too late for the team and himself.

“I have tried different things, but nothing has worked out. I will now come with a blind mindset…will see the ball and play my natural game,” said Prithvi.

When asked about what is going wrong for Delhi Capitals, the right-handed aggressive batter said it's time the players should upgrade their skills.

“We have not done well in the tournament so far. Now, it’s time to upgrade our skills. We are like a family. The environment is good. It’s a matter of one win. A victory will get us into a rhythm,” he added.
