Delhi Capitals (DC) promising batsman Prithvi Shaw has so far had a torrid time with the bat in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). It has only compounded problems for skipper David Warner.

Prihhvi has so far scored 12, 7, 0, 15, 0, and 13 in his last six matches. After losing five consecutive matches, Delhi only managed to open their account by winning their last match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by four wickets.

Due to his poor form it is not certain that Prithvi will get a place in their next game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has slammed Prithvi for his poor run in IPL 2023. As per Vaughan, that the 23-year-old can’t keep going on reputation alone and on the basis of what he has done in the past.

“I think Prithvi needs a big innings to get back into his form. He desperately needs some runs under his belt. He can’t keep going on reputation only. He can’t keep going on the basis of what he has done in the past. He needs to produce the runs here and now,” said the former England captain.

“It was a good opportunity for Prithvi to get back to form against KKR. The target was small and it won’t intimidate you as a batter. There was no real pressure in terms of the scoring rate. I think Prithvi comes out and plays the way he has done in the past. However, he needs to be there at the end of the power play to get back his form,” Vaughan added.
