Former West Indies explosive batter Chris Gayle slammed Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper David Warner for his slow batting in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

As per Gayle, Warner’s slow scoring rate is causing strain on himself and putting huge pressure on other batters of the Delhi Capitals. The flamboyant batter also mentioned that being an experienced player, the Australian should be able to improve his scoring pace.

Though the Australian veteran batsman is second on the list of highest run scorers list in the IPL 2023, his strike rate has been a cause for concern for Delhi Capitals.

“Warner is putting a lot of pressure on himself and the other players as well with his slow batting. His slow scoring rate is causing Delhi a lot of problems in the middle. So that is something he needs to work on. He is experienced enough to know what to do,” said Gayle during an interview.

After four successive defeats of Delhi Capitals in the season, in-form all-rounder Axar Patel revealed that Warner had been trying hard to get back to his attacking self, but has been unable to do so.

Notably, Delhi Capitals are languishing at the bottom of the table after losing all their matches in IPL 2023 so far. Now they have a tough task in hand to advance to the next round.
