Explosive all-rounder and Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya has his own style of captaincy. However, many cricketers and experts have sensed a few similarities between Pandya and former Team India and Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni.

Legendry Indian spinner Anil Kumble was the latest to join the bandwagon. Kumble was first a teammate with Dhoni and later he became Pandya’s coach with the Indian team. As per the former great, Hardik’s reading of the game is a lot like Dhoni and that reflects the way he takes decisions on the field.

“Hardik reads the game really well, just like Dhoni. You can see that in the way he bats and bowls, and also manages his bowling resources,” said Kumble during an interview.

“For a fast bowler to be bowling at that pace and then coming in and batting in whichever situation is incredible. We have seen that with Mumbai Indians, he did the finisher’s role. Last year we saw a different Pandya. The captain played a different role for Gujarat. In that sense, he is the complete package you would expect from a player,” the former spinner added.

It was in 2016, that a young Hardik made his India debut under Dhoni. However, seven years later Hardik is being looked up as the next limited-overs captain for India.
