Australian cricket legend Shane Warne, born in Victoria in 1969, passed away on March 4, 2022. Known for his unparalleled charisma on the field, he took over 1,000 wickets in international cricket and held the record for most Test wickets until surpassed by Muttiah Muralitharan.

He came, conquered and then left us all of a sudden on March 4, 2022. The life of Shane Warne can’t be described in just a few words, that’s the aura he created in the game of cricket during his playing days representing Australia. 

Born in Victoria in 1969, Shane Warne would have turned 55 on September 13, 2024. To this date, cricket fans all over the world, continue to cherish his on-field charisma. During his playing days, the legendary cricketer took more than 1,000 wickets across all formats for Australia and finished his international playing career as the all-time highest wicket-taker in Tests before getting surpassed by Sri Lankan spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan.

One of the significant moments of Shane Warne's storied career remains Australia's thumping victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Cricket World Cup final, in which the legendary spinner delivered a 'Player of the Match' winning performance.

Warne dismissed Tendulkar 4 times and there was always an intense battle when Tendulkar and Warne were facing each other. 

However, Warne dismissed 236 different batsmen during his Test career, including Alec Stewart 14 times. Ashwell Prince and Nasser Hussain fell eleven times, and Mike Atherton ten times.

Remembering her late father on his special day, Warne’s daughter Brooke Warne shared a heartfelt tribute to her late father on Instagram.
