Following Saudi Arabia’s stunning victory over Argentina in their FIFA World Cup 2022 opener, reports were rife that the entire team will be gifted Rolls Royce by the Arab country’s royal family. However, the reports seem to be fake.

Head coach of Saudi Arabia, Herve Renard rubbished the reports and said it is not true.

“We have a very serious federation and ministry of sport and it is not the time to get something at this moment. We only have played one game. We have two very important group stage games and we are hoping for some more,” Renard said.

“I don’t know if you remember the press conference before Argentina. I said the Argentina game is one of the three important games we have to play. The only good thing at the end of this group stage is to finish at top spot or at No. 2,” he added.

Notably, Saudi Arabia suffered a 0-2 defeat against Poland in their second World Cup game.

After the defeat, Renard said, “Sometimes you get success; today we failed, so we are failing together. But we have one more game and I hope to win it. It is important to stay focused and think about our next game against Mexico.”
