It was a scary moment for England players as gunshots were heard close to England’s team hotel in Multan on Thursday morning ahead of the second Test against hosts Pakistan.

It is believed to be an altercation among local gangsters.

As per reports, the incident took place one km from the team hotel, when the England squad left their base for training. The local authorities made sure that the team was in no danger. As per the latest report, a total of four suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.

However, the England team had no problem during training despite the horrible incident. The ground is 30 minutes away from their base with a greater military presence compared to the Rawalpindi Test.

Meanwhile, the team’s security plan remains unaltered by the incident that took place in the morning.

The visiting team had won the first Test by 74 runs. They will look to clinch the series by winning the second Test in Multan, which starts tomorrow.

Notably, England’s cricket team has arrived for their first tour of Pakistan in 17 years, a lengthy absence brought about by security fears.
