Cricket fever has engulfed the entire country as the Men in Blue are all set to take on the Aussies in the 2023 World Cup Finals today at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, Odisha is also feeling the buzz ahead of the electrifying showdown between India and Australia.

Hotels, sports clubs and other venues across Odisha have already transformed into bustling hubs for live screenings of the matches. Enthusiastic groups have converged with friends, family and colleagues, eagerly waiting for the big-ticket match.

Well, Odisha politicians are no different. All of them, irrespective of their parties, are eagerly waiting for the clock to tick 2:00PM and witness the epic clash as India avenges the 2003 World Cup loss to Australia.

Sending best wishes to the Blue Army, Dharmendra Pradhan said, “Every Indian is eagerly waiting for the match to begin and the Rohit Sharma-led team is absolutely on rampage on the field. Virat Kohli has become ‘Virat’ already with his innings in the semifinal against New Zealand. Moreover, we also have the greatest bowler of all times, Mohammed Shami. India has a deadly combination of both batters and bowlers and the World Cup is ours.”

Similarly, MLA Suryabanshi Suraj said, “As an Indian, I’m sending my best wishes to the entire team and hopeful that they will bring the World Cup home this year. 

“It is the dream of every Indian that India becomes the Champion this year. They have all the qualities of being a Champion. I thank every player for the terrific win in the Semifinals and hopeful that they will lift the World Cup this year,” said Narasingha Mishra.

Similarly, Congress leader Santosh Singh Saluja said, “We are all extremely proud as Indians that the Blue Army has won all the league and knockout matches with their terrific performances. Indian players are breaking records after records, especially Virat Kohli, I send my best wishes. I’m confident that the World Cup will come home.”

“I extend best wishes to the Rohit Sharma Army on behalf of all the citizens of Bolangir and Odisha. I’m super excited after Virat Kohli’s 50th ton in the semifinal. We are all with Team India,” said BJP MLA Mukesh Mahaling.

“The terrific form that team India is now, I don’t care how many times Australia has been the champion. There is not a single doubt that India will win the World Cup. Bharat Mata ki Jai,” said Congress leader Tara Bahinipati.

Similarly, BJD’s Rabi Nanda said, “There was a time when I also was a cricket player. So, as a cricket lover, I send my heartfelt wishes to the Men in Blue. This time, the World Cup is ours.”

“All the wishes and prayers of 1.40 billion people are with the Indian team. The way team India has performed and won all the matches, I’m confident that they will win the Finals and bring pride to the entire country,” said BJD leader Ishwar Panigrahi.
