Jasprit Bumrah
Despite sustaining injury, Team India’s premier speedster Jasprit Bumrah has been selected in the 15-member squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
However, it has been learnt that Bumrah’s availability in the team will completely be dependent on his fitness.
The experienced pacer sustained a back spasm during the fifth and the final Test match against Australia in Sydney. As a result, he was unable to bowl on the final day of the encounter in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Meanwhile, chief selector Ajit Agarkar revealed that they are still waiting on Bumrah’s fitness and his status will be clear to the BCCI in early February. For Champions Troph, February 13 is the final date when teams can make changes to their squads.

“Bumrah has been told to off-load for five weeks after and he won’t be available for the first two ODIs against England. We are waiting on his fitness and will know his status in early February from the medical team,” said Agarkar.
Team management’s desperation to include Bumrah in the team shows their desperation that bowling department is still the weaker link of the team and without the premier pacer, the team will be mincemeat of other formidable teams in the mega event.
