MS Dhoni
Veteran wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni will play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) even at the age of 43.
Following a change in the rule, Dhoni has been retained by CSK as he has not played for the Indian team for the last five years.
CSK will have the advantage as Dhoni has the capacity to outwit the opponents with his strategic brilliance. Moreover, Dhoni will have also the chance to break many records during the 2025 edition of the cash-rich league.
If the former Captain Cool of CSK manages to score a fifty in the upcoming season, he will become the oldest player in IPL history to score a half century. The current record is held by former Australian great Adam Gilchrist, who scored an unbeaten 85 against RCB in 2013 at the age of 41 years and 181 days. Dhoni’s last fifty came in March 2022, against KKR. At that time, the veteran cricketer was 40 years and 262 days old.

So far southpaw Suresh Raina holds the current record of scoring the highest runs in IPL with a total of 4,687 runs. Dhoni has so far scored a total of 4,669 runs in IPL so far. He just needs only 19 more runs to surpass Raina and become the highest run-getter for CSK in the history of the league.
Dhoni has 190 dismissals in his name behind the stumps in the IPL so far. He needs just 10 more dismissals to cross 200 marks. It will be a great record in the history of IPL.
