The marquee event, set to take place in Pakistan, will see India playing its league matches in Dubai. Sources suggest Bumrah’s inclusion will depend on his fitness, with selectors emphasizing the need for him to participate in at least one competitive game beforehand to prepare for the tournament.

Bumrah has been in stellar form, as showcased in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, where he claimed 32 wickets at an impressive average of 13.06. His standout performance earned him the Player of the Series award, solidifying his role as a key player for India.

India’s bowling lineup has received another boost with the inclusion of Mohammad Shami. Set to feature in the upcoming five-match T20 series against England, Shami returns after last appearing in the ICC World Cup 2023 final.

The squad for Champions Trophy and ODIs against England will be announced today by BCCI. 

As India gears up for the ICC Champions Trophy, having its top fast bowlers fit and in form will be critical to the team’s chances of clinching another major title, following their ICC T20 World Cup triumph in 2024.

The Final will be played in Dubai if India qualifies for the final.
