Berhampur: A local court today sentenced six persons to 20 years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh each after convicting them in smuggling of contraband items.

Additional Sessions Judge, Ganjam, Manoj Kumar Panda convicted the five for illegally transporting around 550 kg ganja by two vehicles from Visakhapatnm in Andhra Pradesh to Berhampur. The court also ordered them additional five year jail term in case the fine was not realized.
