New Delhi: Cornered by Congress in the wake of Karnataka Lokayukta`s report on illegal mining, BJP on Monday launched a counter-offensive seeking the party`s response on the Shunglu Committee report which indicted Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for irregularities in certain CWG projects.

"We will take immediate action as soon as we get the report of the Lokayukta tomorrow. People are in a hurry and making all sorts of noises. They should answer what is their response to the Shunglu Committee report (on Commonwealth Games projects)," senior party leader M Venkaiah Naidu said at a meeting of Delhi BJP office bearers.

He also sought the party`s response on the report of Delhi Lokayukta on state minister Raj Kumar Chauhan.

The high-powered committee had held various agencies, including the PWD, responsible for irregularities in the run up to the Games.

The Delhi Lokayukta had criticised Chauhan for allegedly trying to influence a team of sales tax officers examining a case of possible tax evasion at a resort in south Delhi and had recommended his removal from the council of ministers.

Casting doubts on the manner in which the cash-for-vote scam is being probed, he said, "The question is whether Delhi Police will conduct an impartial inquiry into the issue. Going by what has happened so far, they are trying to make whistleblowers accused and seeking to give clean chit to other parties."

He said if the Delhi Police takes the probe to its logical conclusion, the central government will "collapse at once."
