Youth's murder in Bhubaneswar: 2 arrested for strangulating friend to death

Commissionerate Police on Saturday claimed to have cracked the mystery behind the murder of a youth in Chandaka area in Bhubaneswar.

As per police sources, Rajendra Hansda and Mohan Marandi killed their friend Sushant Kumar Tudu by strangulating him in an inebriated condition over a trivial issue.

Both the accused have been arrested in connection with the murder case.

As per reports, the three friends were on their way to Chandaka on a scooter to consume liquor on June 11. However, the scooter ran out of fuel midway. Then there was an altercation among them. However, both the accused lost their cool and they allegedly strangulated the victim to death on the way.

"A student along with his two friends had gone to the Chodangagada forest to consume country liquor. There was an altercation between them over a trivial issue after consuming two bottles of liquor. Following the incident, two among them strangulated Sushant to death. Subsequently, they concealed the body in the nearby Panchamania forest," said Additional DCP Bhubaneswar, Suresh Chandra Patra.

"The body has been seized. Following an investigation into the incident, both the accused have been arrested," he added.
