Nikki Yadav murder: Sahil Gehlot married victim in 2020; father of accused among 5 arrested

Shocking details continue to emerge in the sensational murder of Nikki Yadav, who was brutally strangled to death by her live-in partner Sahil Gehlot.

Days after police recovered the body of Nikki Yadav from a fridge, Delhi police have arrested her boyfriend Sahil Gehlot’s father for helping his son plan the murder.

It was Sahil Gehlot’s parents who had helped his son plan the murder following which the accused strangled Nikki Yadav with a charging cable and later stuffed the body in a fridge at a restaurant owned by his family in the chilling re-run of Aaftab Poonawalla and Shraddha Walkar murder case.

Till now, 5 people have been arrested in this connection including Sahil’s father.

“He has been arrested on the charges of helping his son in the conspiracy,” said Special CP Ravinder Yadav to ANI.

Meanwhile, reports have emerged that the accused had married Nikki in October 2020 at a temple in Noida. However, his parents did not approve of his marriage. So, they had fixed his marriage with another girl and he was even engaged to the other girl.

On the other hand, Nikki was clueless about Sahil’s engagement and marriage plans. She found out about the wedding a day before, police sources said.

The CCTV footage surfaced earlier showed Nikki Yadav entered her rented home in south-west Delhi on February 9 and cops believed that she was killed hours later.

This is the second such murder in the national capital. Last year, Shraddha Walkar was murdered in a similar manner by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawalla, who chopped her body into pieces and stored them in a fridge before disposing of them across the city.
