Lady inspector Snigdharani has affair with driver, alleges husband

Snigdharani Suna, the lady inspector whose vehicle rammed into an auto-rickshaw killing 3 labourers in Sonepur, has again hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Suna’s estranged husband has alleged that she is having an affair with the driver Ajay Sethi who was driving the vehicle during the accident.

“Our divorce matter is still pending in court. However, my wife has been living with her driver Ajay Sethi, who is also a criminal. He was driving the car during the accident,” alleged Suresh Bag, husband of Snigdharani. Based on a complaint by Bag, Sundargarh Town Police has registered a case in this connection and launched a probe.

According to sources, Suresh had a love marriage with Snigdharani. However, things turned sour for the couple soon after marriage. In 2020, Snigdha brought allegations of torture against Suresh. Subsequently, she allegedly developed an affair with her driver and when Suresh confronted her on the issue, she threatened him and passed casteist slurs.

Even though, Suresh had lodged a complaint in this connection, no action has been reportedly taken in this regard yet. On the other hand, family members of the deceased labourers have alleged police inaction. Although, Snigdharani was detained soon after the accident, she has not been arrested yet.

Even though, Sundargarh SP Amaresh Panda had claimed to take stringent action against her, police have only registered a case under Motor Vehicle Act and is allegedly sitting idle.

Worth mentioning, Snigdharani was returning home after her duty in Puri for Rath Yatra when her vehicle hit an auto-rickshaw ferrying labourers. While three labourers died on the spot, six are still battling for life.
