A seven-year-old child, Utpalaksh Jena from Nuapatna in Cuttack has set a record of being the youngest to recite all the 118 elements in the periodic table while playing double sided chess. His skill has now helped him find a place in the International Book of Records.

Utpalaksh’s father works as an aircraft engineer abroad while his mother works as a nurse at SCB hospital in Cuttack. He is a student of DAV school.

Speaking about her son’s feat, Utpalaksh’s mother, Jayashree Jena said, “He has achieved this feat while playing double sided chess. Not only this, my son has also participated in the India Book of Records.”

While showing his medal, Utpalaksh said, “I felt really good after breaking the previous record. I love playing chess too. So, I can do seemingly tough jobs while playing chess.”

It is worthwhile to mention here that a class 3 student in Sambalpur had successfully registered his name in the Guinness Book of World Records in August this year by making 800 paintings in his home.

On his outstanding achievement, his father said, "I always encourage him to do sketches and paintings of whatever he sees. However, he made it a habit during the COVID induced lockdown."
