Koraput: Left Wing Extremists on Saturday slit the throat of two villagers suspecting them to be police informers at Borigi village here.

The deceased villagers were identified as Santosh Patnana of Borigi village and Mandingi Shankar Rao of Langalbeda village.

The bodies of the slain villagers were found on Bogiri village road today.

A letter bearing the signature of secretary, CPI (Maoist) of Koraput-Srikakulam division was also found near the bodies. The ultras killed the duo for acting as police informers, police said after going through the letter.

But police denied saying that the duo were not police informers.

In a similar incident, the ultras had hacked two persons to death earlier on July 23 and 24 suspecting them to be police informers.
