Ghaziabad: A 50-year-old man was locked up for ten days in his home and set on fire allegedly by his wife today after he took objection to her illicit relationship with men, police said here.
Bablu, a rickshwa-puller, was sleeping at his home in Mirzapur near Vijaynagar when his wife set him ablaze after which some neighbours came to his rescue and admitted him to District hospital, police said.
According to the victim, who belongs to Meerut, his wife had illicit relationships with men and when he objected to it she locked him in the house for ten days and today set him ablaze, they said.
The victim was today referred to a hospital in Delhi after his condition became serious, they said.
The victim has four children and has been living in Mirzapur for 15 years, they said.
Further investigation in the case is on, they added.
