Basti (UP): A local court has awarded life term to a man and his parents for killing his wife for dowry.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Ramkushal on Saturday awarded life term to Iliyas and his parents Akram and Khusnain for killing Salma Khatoon on February 28 in 2009, prosecution sources said, adding a fine of Rs 6000 was also imposed on each of them.

The incident took place in Pokharbhitwa village in Valterganj police area here.
