Sitapur (UP): A man was allegedly killed by his brother and his friends in Eithapur village in Ataria area here over an election rivalry, police said today.

Jangbahadur Yadav (45) was murdered by his brother Bharat Prasad and his friends, who beat him with sticks on Tuesday killing him on the spot.

The incident was stated to be a fall out of election rivalry as both the brothers contested village head polls last year. An FIR has been registered in this regard against 13 persons of whom, two including Bharat, was arrested by the police.
