Bhubaneswar: The crime branch on Monday filed a chargesheet against seven people in connection with the killing of Laxmanananda Saraswati.

The crime branch has named seven people including Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda in the chargesheet. The other six are Pulari Rama Rao, Somanath Dandasena, Azad, Dasru, Lalu and Madan.

On January 30, 2009, the police had filed its first chargesheet against seven people.  The second and final chargesheet has been filed on Monday on the basis of evidence obtained during the investigation.

Earlier on August 23, 2008, Laxmanananda Saraswati was killed along with his disciples by a group of 40-odd assailants in Kandhamal district, which had triggered communal riots.
