Mumbai: The designer troika of Shivan, Naresh and Swapnil Shinde stole the show at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week here with a spectacular laser display complementing their vivid themes.

Shivan and Naresh`s collection was inspired from the `speed of a horse`. "Our theme was speed, it is a universal theme inspired from anatomy of horse," the duo said. Their collection comprised swim suits, short dresses, loose tops and skirts.

Designer Swapnil Shinde retained the laser lights while displaying his creation inspired from Bollywood horror flicks of late 50`s and early 60`s.

The spook from the retro slowly sank in with the audience with silhouette of a lead actress, draped in a white sari with her pallu fluttering in air, and crystal chandeliers clinking with wind in the backdrop, and the hero in his rigid tweed blazers romancing her.

The silhouettes were inspired from the late 50`s and early 60`s and were a sort of confined imagery of what women looked like in those times having cinched waists, big shoulders, exaggerated sleeves, full volume skirts.

The hues incorporated jet black, ivory, shades of slate and steel blue, blood red and sunflower yellow. "My collection is fascinated with the effects of wind on fabric, providing a visual treat to the fashionistas," Swapnil said.
