  • There are certain things that you need to watch out for if you are a 35 plus pregnant lady.
  • Following a healthy diet is the first thing that is essential for having a risk-free pregnancy.

Pregnancy is a natural process and a woman can become pregnant as long as she continues to menstruate. However, as she continues to age, the capacity of a woman to conceive and carry a child starts decreasing. Even though a woman can menstruate until her late forties and early fifties, the chances of her getting pregnant after her late thirties become less. Moreover, even if she does get pregnant, there are many risk factors involved.

However, with women nowadays, focussing more on their careers and planning family much later in their lives, conceiving a child during their late thirties is slowly becoming more common. But there are certain things that you need to watch out for if you are a 35-plus pregnant lady.

Unhealthy diet can prove problematic

Pregnancy after 35 needs to be watched out for carefully. Apart from taking prescribed medications, it is also important to watch out for diet. Avoid taking unhealthy foods that include oily and junk food or processed food items. While it is normal for a pregnant woman to add a few kilos during pregnancy, the lady must not gain too much weight as it can lead to serious issues during delivery.

Get yourself checked beforehand

If you are planning to conceive at the age of 35 or more, you must first consult your gynecologist who will first check your uterus and ask you to do certain tests for diabetes, lipid profile, vitamin deficiency, and so on. Take your decision under the doctor’s guidance to deliver a healthy baby. Since above the age of 35 pregnancy can be complicated, you must never miss the follow-up check-up dates with your doctor and perform all the tests, exercises and practices recommended very seriously.

Try to become a fit person before conceiving

There is nothing wrong with delaying motherhood until you are both emotionally and financially ready for it. But since you are aware of the risks of getting pregnant in the late thirties it is better to maintain your overall health, weight, and mental stability. It will surely lower the risk of complications during childbirth.
