An Indian origin Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has successfully reversed his diabetes without taking any medicines. Ravi Chandra, a CFO at Amoli enterprises Ltd, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

Instead of taking medications, Chandra decided to start jogging and running, which helped him reduce his blood glucose level and return to normal in just three 3 months.

According to South China Morning Post, Chandra was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 51. Since then he joined in marathons and running and has run 29 races – 12 marathons, 5 half-marathons, seven 10 kilometre races, 5 ultra runs in Hong Kong, Taiwan and India. He was also one of the participants in the famous 100-kilometre Oxfam Trailwalker in Hong Kong.

In just 3 months, he reduced his blood glucose level and brought it to normal range from 8 to 6.80.

“I felt that once I started medication, the dosage would keep increasing. I felt that improving my fitness levels would help control the diabetes. My work is also very stressful, so regular exercise would only help me calm down,” SCMP quoted him.

Moreover, Chandra revealed that he typically eats only vegetarian food, occasionally having fish or chicken. The majority of his breakfast is made in the form of curd rice, idli or dosa. For lunch and dinner, he frequently eats rice with veggies. He also consumes fruits like apple and orange as snacks.
