Ranchi: Jharkhand Speaker C P Singh on Friday directed Arjun Munda government to take note of allegations of felling of 600 trees in a forest in Ranchi district.

"Take note of it (felling of trees) and take action as per rule," Singh said after Jharkhand Janadhikar Manch MLA Bandhu Tirkey raised the issue in the house.

Tirkey said about 600 trees were cut down in the forests of Lapung block of the district recently and sought a probe to find out who was responsible for it.
