In a shocking incident, The Kapil Sharma Show actor Tirthanand Rao, popularly known as Jr. Nana Patekar, reportedly attempted to kill himself during a Facebook live session.

The talented actor reportedly drank insect killer ‘Khatnil’ following an argument with his live-in girlfriend. Before taking the extreme step, he accused his girlfriend of harassing him mentally. He also accused her of blackmail and extortion.

On being informed, local police rushed to his home and admitted him to a hospital at the right time. Reports suggest the actor is currently out of danger.

Meanwhile, a report in Aaj Tak revealed, the girlfriend said, ‘marne do usse.’

When police called her to inform about his suicide attempt, she told, “marne do, main toh waise bhi usse chhodne wali thi (Let him die, I’m anyways going to dump him),” and hung up the phone.

The shocking statement by the girlfriend of the talented actor has left his fans in shock. This isn’t the first time, he has attempted to end his life. He had earlier tried to kill himself due to a severe financial crunch during Covid-19 lockdown.

According to a report in DNA India, Rao said that he is going through a bad phase personally. His family has abandoned him and did not go to see him in the hospital.

“My family lives in the same complex but does not talk to me. They did not even come to see me in the hospital,” he revealed.

For the unversed, Rao has worked in many Gujarati films and has been part of Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe and The Kapil Sharma Show.
