The stunning Mrunal Thakur’s second Telugu movie ‘Hi Nanna’, after the blockbuster ‘Sita Ramam’, is all set to hit the big screens on December 7. Directed by debutant Shouryuv, the film has natural star Nani playing the lead.

The trailer of the film was released recently and received mixed reviews from audience and critics. The trailer shows a heartwarming bond between a single father and his little daughter. Mrunal Thakur is playing the love interest of Nani while Shruti Haasan will be seen in a special appearance.

Going by the trailer, netizens have been drawing parallels between the film’s concept and the 1998 Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

In Kuch Kuch Hota Hai also SRK played the role of a single father with a past love story. Fans are assuming that director Shouryuv drew inspiration from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai for the film.

However, the young director denied the rumours and said, “These movies only come to mind because a single father finds love again in my film. This has nothing to do with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. This is just a fictional story based on things I’ve seen around me.”

The director also opened up about casting Mrunal and said, “I had seen her in the film Toofan and thought she was perfect for the role in my mind. I had her in my mind when I wrote the character. I’m so glad that she said yes. Her character has numerous layers and she pulled it off well, not to mention, look stunning even when she was crying.”
