A few hours after her deepfake clip creator was arrested, national crush Rashmika Mandanna took to her social media handle to thank the Delhi Police. The actress expressed her heartfelt gratitude through a post on her Instagram.

Taking to her Instagram stories, she wrote, “Expressing my heartfelt gratitude to Delhi Police. Thank you for apprehending those responsible.”

She continued, “Feeling truly grateful for the community that embraces me with love, support and shields me. Girls and boys – if your image is used or morphed anywhere without your consent, it is wrong! And I hope this is a reminder that you are surrounded by people who will support you and action will be taken.”

She ended the post with a white heart emoji. The deepfake video of Rashmika showed her entering a lift while exposing her cleavage. While the original video was shared on Instagram by an influencer and content creator, the accused had morphed Rashmika Mandanna’s face in the video.

The arrested accused has been identified as Eemani Naveen, a 24-year-old digital marketer who was arrested from Andhra Pradesh yesterday. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to creating the video to gain more followers on Instagram.

While Naveen claims he is a big fan of Rashmika, his act triggered widespread criticism on social media. Apart from Rashmika, many other celebs like Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Nora Fatehi, and Priyanka Chopra have been victims of deepfake videos.
