‘My brain went blank’: Rashmika Mandanna recalls slapping Ranbir Kapoor for real in Animal

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ has become the talk of the town ever since its release. The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer emerged as one of the highest grossers of 2023. The movie was intense and showed a lot of emotions demonstrated through several scenes between a son and father, brother and sister, wife and husband, and brother with another brother.

Apart from the emotional quotient, the movie also featured a few violent and bold scenes. In one scene, Ranvijay (played by Ranbir) is slapped by his wife Geetanjali (played by Rashmika Mandanna) after he reveals of sleeping with Zoya (Triptii Dimri).

In a recent interview, Rashmika recalled how she slapped Ranbir for real and stated that the scene was taken in one shot. The ‘Pushpa’ actress further revealed that she went blank while shooting the scene and doesn’t really remember anything.

“Sandeep told me just to fellow how a person in this situation would react. I remember only this. I don’t remember anything between the action and the cut. I just can’t process it. My brain was just going blank,” Rashmika was quoted as saying by Pinkvilla.

The gorgeous beauty further added that she was crying for real after the slap scene. She later went up to Ranbir and asked him if he was okay.

“People don’t write sequences like this every time. I am so glad that I did this movie and this sequence. I was surprised with myself,” she added.
