Many individuals are forced to abandon their dreams due to a lack of privilege, but this man defied the odds with his relentless hard work and unwavering determination, turning his aspirations into reality. We are talking about IAS officer M Sivaguru Prabhakaran, who hails from Tamil Nadu.

Prabhakaran stands as a testament to resilience and determination, having conquered the formidable UPSC exam to become an IAS officer. Hailing from a family of farmers, his early life was marred by financial hardships and familial challenges.

As per a DNA report, born into a family where toiling in the fields was a way of life, Sivaguru witnessed his mother and sister working tirelessly, day and night, to sustain the family, as his father battled alcoholism.

Undeterred by adversity, Sivaguru initially set aside his educational pursuits to contribute to the family's livelihood, working as a sawmill operator.

However, the flame of his dream to become an IAS officer never wavered. After his sister's marriage, he resumed his studies, supporting his brother's education while working to make ends meet. In 2008, he secured admission to study civil engineering at Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology in Vellore.

Sivaguru's journey was marked by extraordinary dedication. Balancing weekend studies with his job, he would reside at the platforms of St Thomas Mount railway station, commuting to Vellore during the week for college. His relentless focus led him to crack the IIT-M entrance, culminating in the completion of his M.Tech in 2014.

Post his master's, Prabhakaran set his sights on the UPSC exam, facing numerous challenges but undeterred by setbacks. His perseverance bore fruit in his fourth attempt, securing him an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 101.
