Ahead of the conduct of the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) has released an important notice for the students of class 10.

The National Talent Search Examination is conducted every year in two stages- Stage 1 (State Level) and Stage 2 (National Level). The Stage 1 selection is done by States, UTs through state-level examination and the students who are selected as per quota approved by the Ministry of Education are eligible to appear for the Stage 2 examination conducted by the NCERT.

A scholarship of Rs 1250 per month is provided for classes 9 to 12, Rs 2000 per month for Undergraduate and Postgraduates and the amount of scholarship for PhD is fixed in accordance with UGC norms.

As per the schedule, the last date for submission of the application form for Indian students studying in India will be notified by the respective States/UTs. Similarly, the last date for submission of the application forms by students studying abroad is February 28, 2022.

The Stage 1 (State exam) is likely to be conducted in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Island on January 15. The examination in other states and union territories is scheduled for January 16, 2022.

The Stage 1 examination in West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is scheduled for January 23, 2022. The State 2 (National) examination in all States and Union Territories is likely to be conducted on June 12, 2022.

“The application form for Indian students studying abroad will be uploaded on the NCERT website in January 2022. These candidates are advised to fill up the forms and submit latest by February 28, 2022. There is no application for Stage 2 exam for students studying in India,” the NCERT circular read.
