The Odisha Vigilance sleuths were in for a shock when they stumbled upon several expensive cars and superbikes worth crores of rupees registered in the name of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Trinath Mishra and his family members during searches at his multiple premises in the State on Tuesday.
Interestingly, all the vehicles bear same fancy registration numbers: 0005. Mishra, who is posted as ASP, Communication in Cuttack, is presently under the scanner of the anti-corruption agency for allegedly acquiring assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
During searches at the multiple premises linked to the police official, the Vigilance sleuths came across documents and evidence indicating involvement of Mishra’s son and his family members in several business enterprises including a Hospital and Medical Care centre (Shantilata Care Nursing Home) at Chandikhole in Jajpur district and a medicine store (Shanti Drug House). Both are licenced in the name of Mishra's wife.
The valuation of the high end medical equipments at the nursing home is being carried out with the help of technical and medical experts. The Vigilance has also stumbled upon documents regarding pharmaceutical (drug manufacturing) business at Mahanadi Vihar, Cuttack which is registered in the name of Mishra’s two sons.
A Transport business in the name of M/s Shantilata Transport with its offices located at Chandikhole and Dhanmandal, Jajpur in the name of spouse of Mishra, the Vigilance said in a release.
Assets unearthed so far:
One 3 BHK flat at Marorama Estate, Rasulgarh, Bhubaneswar.
A farm house at Badachana, Jajpur.
3 plots at Bhubaneswar and Jajpur.
Rs 3.5 lakhs cash.
