After completion of 7-day police remand, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday arrested lady blackmailer Archana Nag under the Money Laundering Act

Notably, the ED had sought a 15-day remand of the prime accused Nag to dig more into the case. However, the court directed ED to produce her on December 13 after allowing the investigation agency to take her on remand.

Nag, the alleged mastermind of the high-profile sextortion racket, was produced before the District and Session court in Bhubaneswar on December 5.

While being taken out of the court, Nag broke her silence and said that she was arrested arbitrarily and her family members are put under house arrest.

It is pertinent to mention here that Nag was earlier arrested on October 7 on charges of honey-trapping bigwigs and extorting money from them. The Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court in Bhubaneswar rejected her bail plea on October 17.

Later, on October 21, Nag’s husband Jagabandhu Chand was also arrested from his Satya Vihar residence in Bhubaneswar.
