Judicial Magistrate of First Class (3) Court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of lady blackmailer Archana Nag who was arrested on charge of blackmailing Odia film producer Akshay Parija.

While hearing her plea, the court declined to give bail to the lady blackmailer, who was accused of honey-trapping bigwigs including politicians, producers, directors, businessmen and government officials and extorting money from them.

Producer Akshay Parija had filed a complaint with Nayapalli police in this regard accusing Nag of capturing his intimate photos and demanding Rs 3 crore from him. Enforcement Directorate has interrogated Nag twice in this connection.

Meanwhile, another accused Khageswar’s aide Abinash Priyadarshi alias Chandan appeared before the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday.

Sources close to ED claimed ED has planned to take the accused couple Archana Nag and Jagabandhu on remand and grill them again in this connection.

ED has, so far, interrogated five out of 15 persons in this regard. The film producer was interrogated for 12 long-hours on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the ED officials are trying to solve the mystery surrounding the financial transactions amounting to Rs 37 lakh taken place between Khageswar Patra and Nag-Chand couple.

Earlier, the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court in Bhubaneswar had turned down the bail application of Archana Nag.

On charges of honey-trapping high-profile people and extorting money from them, police had arrested Archana on October 7.
