In the latest development in the lady blackmailer Archana Nag case, the court has remanded prime accused Nag to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for seven days.

Notably, the ED had sought a 15-day remand of Nag to dig more into the case. The court while allowing the investigating agency to take Nag on remand has directed to produce her on December 13.

Archana Nag, the alleged mastermind of the high-profile sextortion racket, was on Monday produced before the District and Session court in Bhubaneswar. Amid tight security, she was brought from Jharpada jail where she was lodged. She was produced before the court on the basis of the ED’s production petition.

Nag for the first time broke her silence on Monday while being taken out of the court. While replying to the blizzard of queries from media persons, she said she was arrested arbitrarily and her family members were under house arrest.

Regarding Shradhanjali Behera’s hiding, she asked where the so-called victims are.
She further added that a CBI probe would reveal the truth behind the case.

Notably, kingpin Nag was arrested on October 7 on charges of honey-trapping bigwigs and extorting money from them. Her bail plea was rejected by the Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court in Bhubaneswar on October 17. Her husband Chand was arrested from his Satya Vihar residence in Bhubaneswar on October 21.
