Chhatrapur trader murder: Fiancee commits suicide during protest

The fiancee of a businessman, who was brutally thrashed to death near Hanspur under Chhatrapur police station in Ganjam district late Friday night, reportedly committed suicide by consuming poison during a protest on Monday.

According to sources, the woman who was supposed to marry cement trader Krushna Chandra Parida attempted to end her life by consuming poison during a protest near Hansapur chhak demanding arrest of the prime accused.

She was immediately rushed to Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur in critical condition. However, she died while undergoing treatment, sources informed.
