New Delhi: Taking digs at the Congress and DMK for the strain in their ties, BJP on Monday said both the parties appeared "desperate and determined" to end the spat.

"The fight between Congress and DMK is not about seats in the Assembly polls. The way negotiations are on shows they are desperate and determined to end the fight," Deputy Leader of BJP in Rajya Sabha S S Ahluwalia said.

He insisted that the differences between the two parties over seat sharing for the forthcoming Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu was a result of DMK`s attempt to create pressure on the UPA government.

"After the confessional statements of those arrested in the 2-G Spectrum scam and the owner of Swan Telecom certain documents have been procured. DMK fears that those who are nearer and dearer to the leadership of party may be arrested," Ahluwalia said.

Congress and DMK held talks in the capital to sort out their differences over seat sharing which had led the Dravidian party to issue a threat to pull out of the government. Congress is demanding 63 seats while DMK is ready to give only 60.
