Baripada: A tribal allegedly hacked two persons, including his minor son, to death and inflicted serious injury on four others in Mayurbhanj district on Sunday, the police said.
 
Peeved over a family issue, Ratan Munda of Bhagabandi village under Jashipur police, lost his cool and killed son Suraj (three) and a woman Budhuni Taria (50) with an axe, IIC of Jashipur Nabakrushna Nayak said.
 
Munda then went on attacking others in the village during which his wife Laxmi, a woman Jayanti Mohanta and two minor siblings Biti Taisam (5) and Barendra Taisam (4) suffered serious injuries, Nayak said.
 
The villagers overpowered Munda and de-armed him before handing him over to the police, he said adding the injured were being treated at the sub-divisional headquarters hospital at Karanjia.
