New Delhi: A 42-year-old woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her divorced husband in Seemapuri area of East Delhi on Thursday.
According to the police, Mohammad Jameel (50) who had divorced Salma six months back, attacked and stabbed her six times when she was standing outside her house.
"Jameel, who is a scrap dealer by profession, fled from the scene after the incident. Salma was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead," said a police official.
As per police, Salma married Jameel several years after divorcing her first husband. The couple had seven children while Salma had one child from her earlier marriage.
A case of murder has been registered and efforts are on to nab Jameel. The motive behind the murder can only be ascertained once he is arrested, police said.
