Yeo is coming to participate in the meeting of the the Interim Governing Board (IGB) of Nalanda University, an ancient varsity being revived in Bihar.
During the visit, Yeo is scheduled to meet his counterpart, Mr S M Krishna, as well as other Indian political leaders, Singapore?s Foreign Ministry announced today.
Minister Yeo would be accompanied by Foreign Ministry officials. In April 2010, Yeo accepted the invitation, Krishna, to sit on the IGB in his personal capacity.
The IGB, chaired by Nobel Laureate Professor Amartya Sen, is tasked to oversee the development of the new international university.
The New Delhi meet would review the progress that has been made, including the transfer of some 446 acres of land to Nalanda University from the Bihar state Government, as well as to put in place the framework for funding, organisational structure, construction and operation of the university.
