Chandigarh: The Punjab government today decided to include security agencies in the employment schedule besides widening the scope of Minimum Wages Act including seven other professions in it. Issuing a notification in this regard, the state government has also fixed minimum wages for this employment.

State Labour Minister Arunesh Shakir said that the Punjab government has included security agencies in the Employment Schedule besides fixing Rs 4,421 for a security guard while Rs 4,867 has been fixed for security supervisors. The security supervisors would get Rs 4,867 if he has got the technical education and industrial training.

Shakir said that government has also included the sweeping and cleaning professions in it while the minimum wages of this category were under consideration. Apart from these jobs, seven other professions would be included in this category including toll plazas, establishment employments, malls and shopping complexes establishment, wine and liquor shops, ornament making polishing, shops and commercial establishments, Zoo and Palaces, building and other construction and shops, he said.
