(image) Bangalore: More than 60 countries are expected to participate in the eighth edition of Aero India, touted as Asia`s premier air show, to be held here from Feb 9.

Around 70,000 foreign delegates were expected to attend the five-day event during which nearly 50 types of aircraft, incuding those from leading global majors, will be showcased.

Over 260 foreign aviation companies will participate in the event, Wing Commander M D Singh, Director, Defence Exhibition Organisaion, told reporters here today.

Over 600 exhibitors would showcase their products and services at the event, which was expected to attract around 1.75 lakh people.

Highlights of the event include presentation by the `Flying Bulls` from Austria, he said.

According to Karnataka Industries and Commerce Commissioner Rajkumar Khatri, the state would try to attract investments during the show by highlighting facilities that made it conducive to aerospace firms to set up establishments.

He said several companies had evinced interest and the goverment will hold discussions with their representatives and some of them will hold discussions with the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Chief Secretary V S Ranganathan.
