Ghaziabad: A CBI court, probing the Uttar Pradesh NRHM scam, on Tuesday sent three accused to judicial custody till January 28.

Businessman Saurabh Jain, former DG (Health) S P Ram and former UP Small Industries Corporation Managing Director Abhay Vajpayee were presented before special CBI judge A K Singh who sent them to judicial custody till January 28, the next date of the hearing.

The court rejected CBI`s request to extend Jain`s remand by 10 days and Ram`s remand by three days. The three had been on CBI remand since Januray 6.

The case relates to alleged irregularities in utilisation of about Rs 10,000 crore of Central funds allocated under the NRHM to Uttar Pradesh.

The CBI remand of the fourth arrested in the case, Pawan Kumar Jain, will end on January 13.
