Patna: Nitish Kumar government has approved a new training policy for its employees to claim promotions, Secretary, General Administration department Deepak Kumar said. A decision to this effect was taken by the state cabinet on Tuesdasy evening, Kumar said.

All government employees from class IV to class I would now have to undergo training varying

between 3 and 104 weeks to claim promotions, he said. Class I and other officers selected by the state government would be required to undergo training in selected national institutes of higher training and even in foreign countries on a selected basis, the cabinet decided.

He said it would also be the responsibility of every department to spend at least 1.5 per cent of

the amount spent on paying slary on training. The cabinet decided to set up a state training council headed by Chief Secretary in this connection shortly, Kumar added.
