Karunanidhi unhappy over relief work
The government should expedite relief works, Karunanidhi, who is on a visit to cyclone-Thane ravaged Cuddalore and Puducherry, told reporters here.
Expressing dissatisfaction over implementation of relief measures, he said "I will continue to urge the Central Government to support the State government on its steps to provide relief to the affected people".
The DMK patriarch distributed sarees, dhotis and woolen bed-sheets to villagers who alleged no official had visited them and that there was no power and drinking water supply for the past few days.
Karunanidhi said his party would provide a financial relief of Rs 50 lakh to cyclone-affected people.
